So in the last couple of months 3 new little crusaders have been born to young Sede couples I know and it looks like they will be the first of many children.
The tractor i managed to get has had the basic service done and works well. There is still some work to do on it to reconnect all the electrics as some are disconnected and the electrical panel was modified somewhat so it’s not so straight forward, but that’s a relatively minor issue.
We also need to add a couple of metal struts to the tricia to make it more sturdy and less likely to break if I make a mistake using it, since although the tractor is basically a small tank, the tools you attach to it need to be properly used, like with anything. It would be awesome if a small cupola with a .50 cal machine gun was a possible attachment, but I think the authorities frown on that sort of thing; for reasons that escape me really.
Anyway, the other thing is that I am finally about to test my first shipment of olive oil to the USA I hope in the first half of July, so with a bit of lick by the end of July a few tins of it will be available there as a test run.
And my tiny experiment planting a few potatoes seems to almost be working.
As an inspiration to anyone else planning to wait out the coming economic collapse/nuclear winter/zombie apocalypse, it take time boys and girls, and hard as it may be I do not regret a single minute of making the shift to attempting to be a farmer, unsuited as I may be for that task.
So I hope many of you are making plans to do the same.

Regarding the potatoes, what cultivar are you planting? When I did mine, I planted from ones I bought from local farmers so I figured they would do fine in my soil. Next year I’ll try Kennebec ones. But I have to look closer at what David the Good plants around his, because I think his grocery row garden idea may result in better yields because the plant variety will confuse the pests.
You are asking me such details? Look, ask me about a calibre of round, a range of efficiency for it… but *types* of potatoes? What do I know, the kind that look like potatoes! You can tell I am not really farmer stock.
